The first Gwangju Aquatics Championships postponed
This year's Gwangju Aquatics Championships, promoted as the legacy project of the 2019 Gwangju FINA World Aquatics Championships, have been impacted by the COVID 19 pandemic.
This is according to Gwangju City on Sept. 16th that the 'First Gwangju Aquatics Championships and Masters Championships' is postponed until next year.
The postponement was decided at a meeting conducted recently with relevant officials from the Korea Swimming Federation, Nambu(남부) University, Gwangju Swimming Federation, and others.
There were opinions to proceed this year with disinfection measures and rescheduling for athletes and students. However, there was a consensus formed to prioritize safety first.
